Members of the EMC-M are group leaders of the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz (JGU) and the Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPI-P), using often the electron microscopic facilities. Membership may be requested in writing to the Speaker of the EMC-M, who forwards the application to the General Assembly for voting. The general meeting is called at least once a year and accepts the report of the steering committee. The members of the EMC-M participate in fundamental decisions in in the EMC-M.
