The LEO EM912 TEM has a built-in column electron energy filter. This allows, in addition to electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) and filtered imaging (EFTEM), the inclusion of inelastic filtered diffraction patterns as it is particularly needed for the convergent electron diffraction (CBED). Of great didactic value is the ability to demonstrate the effect of energy filtering directly on the phosphor screen.
